Cable, TV Makers Reach Peace Accord on Digital

December 19th, 2002 · No Comments

Looks like they’re going to finally make some good progress in the land of digital cable. Firewire output from the cable box would rock.

“It also would forbid cable companies from electronically blocking off any output ports on the televisions — ensuring that consumers would be able to hook up everything from home-theater speakers to home data networks that allow viewing elsewhere in the house.”

This will be great if it really happens. I’m having some trouble believing it will, based on the recent statements of Comcast’s Brian Roberts.

Lately, I’ve been having some trouble prioritizing. There’s too much good stuff to read, listen, and watch. If you focus on taking everything in, there’s no time to actually do anything. I tend to move in waves, from consuming 100% or producing 100%.
