It appears that Comcast will be testing a set-top DVR in Philadelphia. The idea of using the coaxial as the network is really slick and would drive adoption of the home network a lot further. “Ucentric’s system ‘is full featured,’ Collette says. ‘It’s essentially the same’ as TiVo and ReplayTV.”

After these comments by Brian Roberts, Comcast’s CEO, I have trouble believing that they’d license a system that is “essentially the same” as TiVo. I’d also be a bit concerned with Comcast behind my firewall.
