If you haven’t checked out The Merlin Show, you should. Without a passive commute, it’s about the only thing that I use the AppleTV for. The interviewees are pretty varied, but they all tend to hover around of the cultural issues surrounding our hyper productive times, but not in the increasingly popular productivity pornish kind of way.

iphone update

I decided to bite the bullet and when activating the iPhone took my T-Mobile number to AT&T. It transferred in about 20 minutes, which was pretty impressive. AOL must cache the routing information for numbers used in their IM forwarding, it took almost two full days for IM forwarding to work again, but now things are working fine. I don’t miss much on the Treo, the keyboard’s getting better. I hate to admit it, but I could type on the Treo while driving one handed, the iPhone should prevent that from happening again…

John Gruber makes a great observation about the drag priorities in the UI, the feel is retained when the display can’t keep up. There have only been a few times that I’ve felt like it wasn’t keeping up.

Bluetooth integration with the car is better than the Treo, there was an annoying Treo delay in dialing calls, where people wouldn’t be able to hear you talk until about 10 seconds into the conversation which doesn’t happen with the iPhone…

The ipod adapter I have in the car, VAIS Tech AIC-100, worked fine with the phone, though the phone warned that it wouldn’t. I haven’t tried listening to the ipod and picking up a call, though.

All in all, pretty great so far.

At our wedding, the only thing that I was really responsible for was the music. Coming up with five hours of appropriate music was pretty difficult.

Lisa walked down the aisle to “It’s a Wonderful World,” sung by our friend Ann-Marie LaRocca, which hopefully explains the over abundance of versions of that song in the playlists.

My timing got a little screwy because of the weather, but overall it worked out pretty well.

Holiday Weekend

Had a great holiday weekend, despite a rough start… Went to see Jay, Lee and Adrian’s band, Scotchberg on her maiden voyage. The show was great. They did an awesome version of “In the Year 2525″, which I haven’t been able to get out of my head… They opened for the The Elktones. Some nonsense at the end of the night was more than made up for by John and the rest of the staff at The Fire. And big thanks to Eric for making the night far less bad than it could’ve been.

Had a BBQ at the house on Monday. The weather held out. Most of the people that came helped us move in and hand’t been back, so it was great to show everyone the results of our hard work, alright mostly Lisa’s, on the house.

Lisa and I finally got engaged

Kylie and Justin got married

Launched a rebuild of Morgan Lewis and a bunch of others

Bought a new camera

Finally got to go inside the Victory Building (my favorite building in town)

Found the best functioning shoes on the planet

Bought a crap USB-flavored ashtray

Almost finished our plaster job

Built a fence and a yard

Helped Kylie and Justin move

Won a bunch of work, lost some too

Interviewed a ton of people, hired some people

Lost some people (both figuratively and literally)
